National University Bangladesh has opened admission for the 1st Year Bachelor of Honours programme of the 2025-2026 session in all affiliated colleges. For the first time in recent years the merit list is built on a 100-mark MCQ admission test combined with SSC and HSC GPA — a total of 200 marks. Below is the complete roadmap, every official date, the fee structure and the step-by-step process from application to final admission.

The Honours admission circular for the 2025-2026 session was issued by the Dean, School of Undergraduate Studies, National University on 20 November 2025. Minimum GPA required for the 2025-2026 Honours session
Students who passed SSC/equivalent in 2022 or 2023 and HSC/equivalent in 2024 or 2025 from any recognised education board or Bangladesh Open University may apply. The minimum GPA (including the 4th subject) depends on the group studied at HSC level.
Additional conditions
- O-Level / A-Level applicants: at least four subjects passed with B grades in three at O-Level (2022/2023) and at least two subjects passed with a B grade in one at A-Level (2024/2025). These candidates do not apply online — they send a written application to the Dean, School of Undergraduate Studies (adm.hons@nu.ac.bd) with transcripts and two attested passport-size photos, and deposit the Tk 1,000 fee at Sonali Bank by 4 January 2026.
- Foreign certificate holders: apply the same way after equivalence is determined by a recognised Bangladeshi education board.
- You must apply on the form designated for the group you passed HSC in. Home Economics students use the Humanities form.
- Students currently enrolled in a 2024-2025 session Honours, Honours Professional or Degree (Pass) regular/private course cannot be admitted unless the previous admission is cancelled.
- Double admission in the same or in two different sessions cancels both admissions and both registrations.

How to Apply
Nine steps from the online form to college confirmation
The Honours preliminary application is completed entirely online at the National University admission website and then finalised at your chosen college. Follow the steps below in order.
Made a mistake? Go to Applicant Login, enter your Application ID/Roll and PIN, open Form Cancel / Photo Change Option and click Click to Generate the Security Key. An OTP is sent to the mobile number on your form. Enter the OTP to cancel the form and fill it in again with the correct photo and information. You get only one cancellation, and no cancellation is possible once the college has confirmed the form.
Open the official admission website
Go to www.nu.ac.bd/admissions, open the Honours tab and click Apply Now (Honours).
Enter your examination details
Type your roll number, registration number, board/university, passing year and one active personal mobile number. National University uses this number for all future SMS notifications, so use your own or your guardian's number.
Check the auto-filled information
Your name and gender are pulled from the board database. If the gender shows incorrectly, use the Click to Change option and correct it — a male applicant applying to a women's college will have the application cancelled.
Select college and subject preference
Choose division and district, then select a college. You will see the eligible subjects and the number of seats. Set your subject preference order very carefully — seats are allocated by merit following this exact order.
Select your quota (if applicable)
Freedom fighter's child, small ethnic group, differently-abled and ward (children of NU teachers/officers/staff) quotas must be selected on the form. Original certificates from the proper authority are required. Quota seats are additional to the general seats.
Upload your photograph
Scan a recent passport-size colour photo. Size must be 120×150 pixels, type JPG and maximum 50 KB. Uploading anybody else's photo cancels the admission and registration.
Submit and print the form
Click Submit Application. Your Application ID / Roll and PIN will be shown. Download the form and print it on A4 (8.5″×11″) offset paper.
Sign and submit at your college with the fee
Sign the printed form with the date and submit it to the college along with the application fee (mobile banking or cash, as the college directs) within the deadline.
Wait for the college confirmation SMS
The college confirms your form online. You will receive a confirmation SMS. If no SMS arrives, your form is not confirmed — contact the college immediately, because unconfirmed applications are not considered.

Pay the application fee only at your chosen college — through the mobile banking channel the college has announced, or in cash at the college office. National University does not collect the fee directly from applicants. Always collect a receipt.

Honours Admission Test Date 2026
MCQ admission test — 100 marks in 1 hour
For the 2025-2026 session a 100-mark MCQ admission test is held separately for the Humanities, Science and Business Studies groups. You must answer 100 questions in one hour. There is no negative marking for wrong answers, and the pass mark is 35. The exact date, time and centre list will be published in a separate notice on the National University website.

Honours Admit Card Download 2026
Available 7 days before the admission test
Applicants whose preliminary application has been confirmed online by the college can download the admission test admit card from the Applicant Login option of the National University admission website. The admit card is released seven days before the admission test date and shows your exam date, time, roll number and centre name.

Go to the NU admission website and click Applicant Login → Honours Login.
Enter Application ID and PIN
Use the Application ID and PIN you received when you submitted the preliminary form.
Open the Admit Card link
Click the admit card / download option shown in your dashboard.
Print on A4 paper
Download the PDF and print it clearly. Keep at least two copies.
Check every detail
Verify your name, photo, roll number, exam date, time and centre. Report any error to your college immediately.
Honours Seat Plan 2026
Centre, sub-centre and seat arrangement
National University selects the admission test centres. The authority in charge of each centre then selects the sub-centres and prepares the seat arrangement, mixing Humanities, Science and Business Studies candidates. Your centre name and roll number are printed on your admit card, and the detailed seat list is displayed on the notice board of the centre.

Marks Distribution & Merit List Method
200 marks in total — 100 from the test, 100 from GPA
The Honours merit list is prepared out of 200 marks: 100 marks from the MCQ admission test, 40 marks from 40% of your SSC GPA and 60 marks from 60% of your HSC GPA (both with the 4th subject). A separate subject-wise merit list is prepared for each college, following your subject preference order.
How ties are broken
- Higher marks in the admission test.
- Higher total of 40% of SSC GPA and 60% of HSC GPA excluding the 4th subject.
- Higher total of 40% of SSC marks and 60% of HSC marks including the 4th subject.
- If still tied, the younger candidate is placed higher.
Stages of the merit list
1st merit list → 2nd merit list (subject to vacant seats) → quota merit list → 1st release slip → 2nd release slip. There is no 3rd release slip in this session.

Honours admission results are published on the National University admission website and can also be checked by SMS. Colleges see the subject-wise merit list after logging in with their User ID, Password and OTP. Final Admission Form Fill Up
For students placed on a merit, quota or release slip list
If your name appears on a merit list, you must complete the final admission form within the announced deadline. Missing this deadline means losing the seat — the place then moves to the next candidate.
Log in as an applicant
Open Applicant Login → Honours Login and enter your Application ID and PIN.
Open the final admission form
Your allotted college and subject are shown. Open the final admission form link.
Fill in and verify
Complete the remaining personal and academic fields and check every entry carefully.
Download and print
Print the completed form on A4 paper and sign it with the date.
Submit to the college
Submit the signed form with the required documents and the admission/registration fee to your allotted college.
Get it confirmed
The college confirms the final admission online using OTP. Keep your receipt safely.

Final admission is completed at the allotted college. The college verifies your documents and photograph, collects the fees and confirms the admission online with an OTP. The National University share of the registration fee is Tk 1,130 per student, deposited by the college at any Sonali Bank branch (A/C 0218100000134).

Honours Migration Result
Automatic upgrade to a higher subject preference
Migration means being moved automatically to a higher subject preference at the same college when seats become vacant after the earlier merit lists. You do not apply for migration — it happens automatically for admitted students, based on the preference order you set in your application form. Migration results are published together with the later merit lists and release slip results.
No application needed
Every student who has completed final admission is automatically considered for migration.
Preference order decides
You can only migrate upward — to a subject you placed higher in your preference list.
Same college only
Migration moves your subject within the college you are admitted to, not to a different college.
It is final
Once migrated, the earlier subject is released and cannot be recovered.

Honours Release Slip
A second chance at a seat in five colleges
The release slip is for candidates who passed the admission test but did not get a place, or who lost their place. In the release slip you may choose five colleges and set a separate subject preference order for each of them, subject to vacant seats.
How to apply for the release slip
- Open Applicant Login → Honours Login and enter your Application ID and PIN.
- Open the Release Slip Application form.
- Check the subject-wise vacant seats and select up to five colleges.
- Set a separate subject preference order for each college — this order decides your allocation.
- Submit, then download and print the release slip form.
- Wait for the release slip result. No extra application fee is charged at this stage.
Who can apply
- Passed the admission test but was not placed on the 1st or 2nd merit list
- Was placed on a merit list but cancelled the admission
- Was placed on a merit list but did not take admission in the allotted subject
- Did not pass the admission test
- Preliminary application was never confirmed by a college
Honours Release Slip Result
Result of the 1st and 2nd release slip
The release slip result is published on the National University admission website exactly like the merit list result. If your name appears, complete the final admission form and take admission at the allotted college within the deadline — otherwise you lose the seat and, after the 2nd release slip, the admission process for the session is over for you.

I did not get a confirmation SMS after submitting my form. What should I do?
No SMS means the college has not confirmed your application online. Contact the college office before the confirmation deadline. Unconfirmed applications are excluded from the merit list.
Can I apply to more than one college?
No. In the preliminary application you apply to one college only. Multiple colleges can be chosen at the release slip stage.
What happens if I am admitted to two programmes at the same time?
Double admission is prohibited. If a student is admitted twice — in the same session or in two different sessions — both admissions and both registrations are cancelled.
How many release slips are there for Honours 2026?
Two — a 1st release slip and a 2nd release slip, each allowing five colleges. There is no 3rd release slip in this session.
What can I take into the examination hall?
Only your admission test admit card and your HSC registration card. Calculators, mobile phones and all other electronic devices are prohibited.
