Every official admission notice in one list
National University publishes a separate admission circular (ভর্তি বিজ্ঞপ্তি) for each programme. Every circular carries a memo number, an issue date, the eligibility conditions, the full schedule and the approved fee rates. How to Apply
The common application process for every NU programme
The application process is almost identical for Honours, Degree, Masters and Preliminary to Masters. You fill the preliminary application form online, print it, submit it to your chosen college with the application fee, and the college confirms it online. Only confirmed applications enter the merit list.
Made a mistake? Go to Applicant Login, enter your Application ID/Roll and PIN, open Form Cancel / Photo Change Option and click Click to Generate the Security Key. An OTP is sent to the mobile number on your form. Enter the OTP to cancel the form and fill it in again with the correct photo and information. You get only one cancellation, and no cancellation is possible once the college has confirmed the form.
Payment at a glance
- Honours: Tk 1,000 (NU Tk 700 + college Tk 175 + centre fee Tk 125).
- Degree (Pass): Tk 1,000 (NU Tk 850 + college Tk 150).
- Masters (Regular): Tk 1,000 (NU Tk 800 + college Tk 200).
- Preliminary to Masters: Tk 1,000 (NU Tk 800 + college Tk 200).
Pay only at your college, through the mobile banking channel the college has officially announced or in cash, and always collect a receipt. The college then deposits the National University share at any Sonali Bank branch.
Open the official admission website
Go to www.nu.ac.bd/admissions, open the programme tab and click Apply Now.
Enter your examination details
Type your roll number, registration number, board/university, passing year and one active personal mobile number. National University uses this number for all future SMS notifications, so use your own or your guardian's number.
Check the auto-filled information
Your name and gender are pulled from the board database. If the gender shows incorrectly, use the Click to Change option and correct it — a male applicant applying to a women's college will have the application cancelled.
Select college and subject preference
Choose division and district, then select a college. You will see the eligible subjects and the number of seats. Set your subject preference order very carefully — seats are allocated by merit following this exact order.
Select your quota (if applicable)
Freedom fighter's child, small ethnic group, differently-abled and ward (children of NU teachers/officers/staff) quotas must be selected on the form. Original certificates from the proper authority are required. Quota seats are additional to the general seats.
Upload your photograph
Scan a recent passport-size colour photo. Size must be 120×150 pixels, type JPG and maximum 50 KB. Uploading anybody else's photo cancels the admission and registration.
Submit and print the form
Click Submit Application. Your Application ID / Roll and PIN will be shown. Download the form and print it on A4 (8.5″×11″) offset paper.
Sign and submit at your college with the fee
Sign the printed form with the date and submit it to the college along with the application fee (mobile banking or cash, as the college directs) within the deadline.
Wait for the college confirmation SMS
The college confirms your form online. You will receive a confirmation SMS. If no SMS arrives, your form is not confirmed — contact the college immediately, because unconfirmed applications are not considered.
Admission Test Date
Only the Honours programme has an admission test
Among all National University admission programmes, only the 1st Year Honours programme has an admission test in the 2025-2026 session. Degree (Pass), Masters (Regular) and Preliminary to Masters admissions are decided purely on previous examination results, so those applicants have no test, no admit card and no seat plan.

NU Admit Card Download 2026
Honours admission test admit card
An admit card is issued only for the Honours admission test. It is released through Applicant Login on the National University admission website seven days before the exam date, and only for applicants whose form has been confirmed online by the college. The admit card shows your exam date, time, roll number and centre name.
Degree (Pass), Masters and Preliminary to Masters admissions have no admission test, so no admit card is published for those programmes.
Open Applicant Login
Go to the NU admission website and click Applicant Login → Honours Login.
Enter Application ID and PIN
Use the credentials you received when you submitted the preliminary form.
Download the admit card
Open the admit card link and save the PDF.
Print and verify
Print on A4 paper and check the name, photo, roll, date, time and centre carefully.
NU Seat Plan 2026
Centre and seat arrangement for the Honours admission test
A seat plan exists only for the Honours admission test. National University selects the examination centres; the authority in charge of each centre selects sub-centres and prepares the room-wise seat arrangement, mixing Humanities, Science and Business Studies candidates. Your centre name and roll number appear on your admit card, and the detailed list is displayed on the centre notice board.
There is no seat plan for Degree, Masters or Preliminary to Masters admission, because those programmes have no test.

Merit list, quota, migration and release slip results
National University publishes admission results for every programme on the admission website. Applicant Login works for all programmes — enter your Application ID/roll and PIN to see the allotted college and subject. The online result checker below works for Honours (it queries the official National University server directly). Final Admission Form Fill Up
For every student placed on a merit, quota or release slip list
Whatever the programme, a student whose name appears on a merit list must complete the final admission form online within the announced deadline and submit it to the allotted college. Missing the deadline releases your seat to the next candidate.

Open Applicant Login and choose your programme, then enter your Application ID/roll and PIN.
Open the final admission form
Your allotted college and subject are shown along with the form link.
Complete and verify
Fill in the remaining fields and check every entry before submitting.
Download and print
Print on A4 paper and sign it with the date.
Submit to the college with documents and fee
Hand in the signed form with your certificates, photographs and the registration/admission fee.
Get it confirmed online
The college confirms your final admission using an OTP. Collect and keep the receipt.

Final admission is always completed at the allotted college. The college verifies your documents and photograph, collects the fees and confirms the admission online with an OTP. The National University share of the registration fee is Tk 1,130 for Honours, Tk 1,130 for Degree (Pass) and Tk 1,620 for Masters and Preliminary to Masters, deposited by the college at Sonali Bank A/C 0218100000134.

NU Migration Result 2026
Automatic subject upgrade for admitted students
Migration moves an admitted student automatically to a higher subject preference at the same college when seats fall vacant after the earlier merit lists. It applies to all National University admission programmes. You never apply for migration — it is processed from the preference order you set in your application form, and the result is published together with the later merit lists and release slip results.
No application needed
Every student who has completed final admission is automatically considered.
Only upward
You can migrate only to a subject you placed higher in your preference list.
Same college
Migration changes the subject, never the college.
It is irreversible
After migration the earlier subject is released and cannot be recovered.

NU Release Slip 2026
The second chance stage of NU admission
A release slip lets a candidate who missed a seat apply again against vacant seats in several colleges. Honours and Degree (Pass) applicants may choose five colleges; Masters and Preliminary to Masters applicants may choose three colleges. Subject preference is set separately for each selected college. No additional application fee is charged.
How to apply
- Open Applicant Login and select your programme.
- Enter your Application ID/roll number and PIN.
- Open the release slip application form.
- Check subject-wise vacant seats and select your colleges.
- Set the subject preference order for each college carefully.
- Submit, then download and print the release slip form.
Who can apply
- Was not placed on any merit list
- Was placed on a merit list but cancelled the admission
- Was placed on a merit list but did not take admission in the allotted subject
- Honours applicants who did not pass the admission test
- Preliminary application never confirmed online by a college
NU Release Slip Result 2026
Result of the release slip merit list
The release slip result is published on the National University admission website in the same way as the merit list result. If your name appears, complete the final admission form and take admission at the allotted college within the deadline — otherwise the seat is released and, after the final release slip, the admission process for the session is over.

Which NU programme has an admission test?
Only the 1st Year Honours programme. For the 2025-2026 session it is a 100-mark MCQ test taken in one hour, with no negative marking and a pass mark of 35. Degree, Masters and Preliminary to Masters have no test.

What is a migration result?
Migration automatically moves an already-admitted student to a higher subject preference at the same college when seats become vacant. No application is needed — it follows the preference order you set in your application form.
Who can apply for a release slip?
Candidates who were not placed on a merit list, who cancelled their admission, or who did not take admission in the allotted subject. Honours applicants must have passed the admission test. Applications never confirmed by a college are not eligible.
Can I be admitted to two programmes at once?
No. Double admission — in the same session or in two different sessions — results in the cancellation of both admissions and both registrations.
