The National University admission circular 2025 has been published. This is the Honours admission circular for the 2024-2025 academic year. On January 20, 2025, the NU Admission Circular 2025 was published on the university’s admission website: www.nu.ac.bd/admissions. A detailed prospectus has also been published alongside the circular. The circular contains detailed information and instructions regarding application eligibility, application deadline, application procedure, admission test date, marks distribution, admit card download, merit list publication, and final admission.
NU Admission Circular 2025
The NU admission circular 2025 has been published. According to the circular, the application process for the 1st year of Honours will begin on January 21, 2025. The last date to apply is February 28, 2025. After the initial application, the application form and fee must be submitted to the designated college. The application form and fee must be submitted between January 22 and March 2, 2025. The initial application fee is 700 taka. This year, the National University will conduct an admission test for admission to Honours courses. The admission test will be held on May 3, 2025.
Application Eligibility
According to the NU Admission Circular 2025, Students from any education board can apply for admission to the Honours courses of the National University. Students who have passed from the General Education Board, Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board, Technical Education Board, and Bangladesh Open University can apply.
In addition, students with foreign degrees can also apply for admission to Honours courses. The general qualifications and necessary conditions for application are given below.
- The applicant must have passed the HSC or equivalent examination in 2024 or 2023 from any recognized education board or open university.
- The applicant must have passed the SSC or equivalent examination in 2022 or 2021.
- Students in the Humanities and Business Education groups must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 in both SSC and HSC levels with a total minimum GPA of 5.5.
- Students in the Science group must have a minimum GPA of 3.75 in SSC and a minimum GPA of 3.5 in HSC with a total minimum GPA of 6.0.
- The applicant must fill up the initial application form designated for the branch in which he/she has passed the Higher Secondary/equivalent examination. Students who have passed from the Home Economics branch in the Higher Secondary examination have to fill up the application form for the Humanities branch.
- The subjects eligible for admission to the 1st year of Bachelor’s (Honours) degree will be determined from the subjects studied by the applicants in the Higher Secondary and equivalent examinations and the minimum grade point in the said subjects (out of 200 marks) must be 2.5.
- No student currently studying in Bachelor’s (Honours)/Bachelor’s (Honours) Professional/Bachelor’s (Pass) regular/private courses in the academic year 2023-2024 under the National University can be admitted to the 1st year of Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in the academic year 2024-2025. However, if such students are willing to be admitted to the 1st year of Bachelor’s (Honours) degree in the academic year 2024-2025, they must cancel their previous admission of the academic year 2023-2024.
- If any student has dual admission in Bachelor’s (Honours)/Bachelor’s (Honours) Professional/Bachelor’s (Pass) regular/private courses in the same academic year or in two different academic years, both his/her admissions and registrations will be considered cancelled.
How to Apply
Applications for admission to the National University must be submitted online. The application fee must be paid through mobile banking as per the instructions of the applied college. NU Apply Instruction are mentioned on the NU Admission Circular 2025.
- To apply, you need to visit the National University admission website (www.nu.ac.bd/admissions).
- Go to the Honours Tab and click on the Apply Now (Honours) option.
- In the next step, enter the roll number, registration number, education board/university, year of passing of Secondary and Higher Secondary/equivalent examination, and a registered mobile number (own or guardian’s) correctly.
- If Male is displayed instead of Female or Female instead of Male in the applicant’s information table according to the information stored in the database, go to the Click to Change option and enter the correct Gender. It is to be noted that if any male applicant applies to a female college intentionally or due to Gender error, the application form/admission of that applicant will be considered cancelled.
- At this stage, the applicant will provide college and subject preferences from the list of eligible subjects according to his/her choice.
- In the next step, information regarding quota has to be provided.
- While filling up the form, a recently taken passport size color photograph of the applicant has to be scanned and uploaded. The size of the photo will be 120×150 pixels, Image Type: jpg and maximum file size: 50Kb.
- Fill up the table with correct information and photo and click on Submit Application option.
- At this stage, the applicant’s Application ID and PIN code will be displayed and the applicant has to download the form [print/collect pdf copy on A4 (8.5″×11″) offset white paper].
Payment Instruction
The applicant has to sign the printed initial application form with date at the designated place. This application form signed by the applicant and the initial application fee of 700/- (seven hundred) taka have to be submitted to the concerned college (through mobile banking designated by the college or directly) in due time.
All applicants whose primary application forms will be confirmed online by the concerned college will be informed through SMS. If the applicant does not receive an SMS on his/her mobile phone after submitting the application form to the college, it should be understood that his/her application form has not been confirmed by the concerned college. In this case, the applicant has to contact the concerned college within the stipulated time. No applicant will be allowed to participate in the admission test without online confirmation of the initial application form by the college.




Admit Card Download
Students whose primary applications have been confirmed by the college have to download and print the admit card for the admission test from the Applicant Login option of the admission website seven days before the scheduled date of the admission test. It is to be noted that the admit card of the student will mention the roll number of the admission test and the name of the examination center. The student must appear at the examination center with the admit card of the admission test and the registration card of the HSC examination. Candidates can use scientific calculators if necessary but cannot bring mobile phones and other electronic devices.
The candidate must take the designated seat at the college center mentioned in the admit card by 10:30 AM on the scheduled date of the admission test (May 3, 2025).
Marks Distribution
This year, students will be admitted to the Honours courses of the National University through admission test. Although in the previous years, admission was based only on the results of HSC and SSC examinations, this year the authorities decided to admit through Admission Test. This information are clearly mentioned on the NU Admission Circular 2025.
In the academic year 2024-2025, an MCQ based admission test of 100 marks will be taken separately for the students of Science, Humanities and Business Education branches at the Higher Secondary level for admission to the 1st year of Bachelor’s (Honours) degree. In the MCQ based admission test of 100 marks, answers to 100 questions have to be given within 01 (one) hour. No marks will be deducted for wrong answers in the MCQ based admission test. The pass mark for the admission test is 35.
